Pond Build Competition
On the weekend we held a Build Competition for the Pond, attracting more than 20 entries. The theme was sculpture, with old and new builders having a crack at the criteria of being original, having artistic merit, being suitable for display at the gallery and a quality build. The main comp was for build on the day, with a existing work category and a prize for best new talent.
Some great new talent emerged, with the public vote declaring Leilah Petrov the most popular ( she also won the best new talent ). Second most popular was a piece of Pop art by Stupid Laws, which attracted a lot of interest and opinion.
We loved most of the work, and it was very hard to choose winners, but in the end the criteria helped us to score them fairly. Elul Rehulas Flower Egg was the overall winner, followed by MudSlinger Nings Spinny thingamajig.
Equal third went to Ezuru Reifsneider and Veloceraptor Vogelbaum. Best Existing went to Uriel Blackadder for his dragon.
Jett Dragonash and Bowlofnoodle Tomorrow getting special mentions.
The competitions was very well attended, with crowds lingering for hours to view the work and vote.
